Star Wars trading card art by Bo Hampton, Scott Hampton, Fastner & Larson, Bill Sienkiewicz, Joe Smith (who did all the character portraits), Earl Norem, Joe Quesada, William Stout, Mœbius, and Jon J. Muth. 1990s.
A set of these cards came my way one day, suddenly rekindling my interest in Star Wars after a period of drought. Summer of 1993. I remember the sun reflecting off the glittery packages as they were lying on our garden table. (Such are the things I remember.) The series acquainted me with Ralph McQuarrie, and many other artists. It’s where I first learned the word “Sith” (on the back of Vader’s card, he was referred to as a “Lord of the Sith”). Looking at these images, I can almost feel the hot summer sun burning, right in the middle of March.
